VRI

How does VRI works? As airlow passes through the bronchial tree it creates vibrations which are affected by structural and functional properties of the lungs. Sensors collect and process the vibration energy to produce a dynamic functional image of the lungs that provides information about airflow  and physiology.

What makes VRI Imaging Unique? VRI provides physicians with a dynamic image that captures the functional and structural properties of the lung throughout the respiratory cycle. Information about airflow and lung physiology is received immediately to better manage patient care.

What are the advantages of VRI? The VRI procedure may be performed repeatedly and results are available immediately, allowing the physician to monitor patients and assess the effectiveness of treatment. A trained VRI operator can perform fast examinations in conventional facilities without any unique expertise.

What about Quantification? The VRIxp provides the physician with Quantitative Lung Data (QLD), a regional assessment of right and left lung function, by quantifying vibration distribution between the lung segments.

What else appears on the VRI Image? The VRIxp visualizes the time, location and distribution of Crackles and Wheezes (CW) throughout the respiratory cycle.

What is involved in the VRI procedure? VRI is quick, non-invasive, radiation-free and can be performed in any clinical setting. Minimal patient cooperation is required. Sensors are placed on the patient's back, he breathes normally for twelve seconds and the procedure is complete.

What about Clinical Validation and Regulatory Status? There are both ongoing and completed studies in leading pulmonary centers across Europe, the United States, Asia and Israel.

The VRIxp has been CE marked since 2005.
